Dr. Paul  J. Gustin, DO

Dr. Paul J. Gustin, DO, is a neurosurgeon joining Summit Brain, Spine & Orthopedics in Lehi, Utah, beginning August 1. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Dr. Gustin moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance. Before entering medicine, he worked in the construction and building industry—an experience that helped shape his attention to detail, work ethic, and technical skill, which contribute to his precise and hands-on approach to neurosurgery.

He earned his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed an intensive seven-year neurosurgery residency at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, affiliated with Carle Health in central Illinois. Dr. Gustin’s clinical expertise includes general neurosurgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal trauma, brain trauma, and tumors of the brain.

Known for his compassionate, patient-first philosophy, Dr. Gustin works closely with colleagues across physical therapy, pain management, chiropractic, and rehabilitation to develop personalized, multidisciplinary care plans. Outside of medicine, he enjoys endurance sports, spending time outdoors with his wife and four children, and sharing educational and motivational content through his online and social media platforms. He is excited to return to Utah and provide high-quality neurosurgical care to the Lehi community and surrounding region.

Education

Dr. Gustin performs minimally invasive spine and brain neurosurgery and trauma coverage at Utah Valley hospitals.  His specialties include scoliosis, spinal deformities, brain and spinal tumors, and motion preservation spine surgery, including lumbar and cervical artificial disc replacements.
